The World Cup Is Over. You Can Go Home Now

After an amazing day at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, watching Switzerland humiliating Spain whilst listening to the Swiss players ringing cow bells, I was so sure my day will end on a positive note. I was so fooled.

Not that I’m crying over spilled milk, I mean I’m used to being disappointed by our national football team. They just never seem to get their ducks in a row even after all that support that was showed towards them. Football Fridays, South Africans buying the jersey (even though some of them were fong-kongs) and even prayer gatherings. Tjo even the Lord can’t help these helpless boys out.

Ok enough of the trashing now and more on the serious stuff. S.A coach, Carlos Alberto Parreirablames the Swiss referee (damn traitors after supporting them at Moses Mabhida) for our dismal and humiliating loss. Truth be told, we deserved to lose. No team will ever win without scoring goals. You need to score to win dammit!

For the first 10 or so minutes, the ball was on our half. I didn’t even know how the Uruguay keeper was wearing during those minutes! People are also complaining about the red card Khunewas given by the ref. I’m told by my sports crazy and even World Cup crazier partner that according to Fifa rules, any attack by the last line of defense, it’s a straight red card. If that’s the case then why all the noise? Read the rules people!

I call on all South Africans to calm the F down and admit defeat. Whether the ref was bribed or not we lost and Uruguay was the better team all round, Form their defenders right up to their stikers.

All that’s left is now is hope that so and so don’t win or so and so draws and beats so and so. Even during the Confed, we went through to the second round by the Lord’s mercy.

Since we won’t be going into the second round, the World Cup is over. All you foreign visitors can now pack your bags and leave and we will give the World Cup to Brazil. Show is over people, there’s nothing to see now!

On a final note, let’s look on the bright side here. We will be making history, yes history. No host nation has ever failed to qualify beyond the group stages. Let’s embrace our history-making tendency. First African could country to host a World Cup and first host nation to be given the boot on the first round.

With all that's said, I'm proud of them and their previous games. They showed that they have a point to prove. I'm still behind you, win or lose Boys Boys!

Now we know which team didn’t qualify for the WC hehehe!

Why? Coz Mpume Said So
